The Otera-Bomber 1F Modernised Sorcerer is a twin-engine, light bomber starfighter designed and manufactured by Sideways Collective Industries as part of the mass modernisation program for the original and ageing Otera squadrons part of the Human star fleet. Any existing Otera-B1D or later models were converted by their respective owners.
An overall redesign of the main fuselage section moved the rear-mounted Cirus GMAT Autocoils to the front of the starship, removing the need for a gunner as a third crew member. The inner B-C3 hardpoints were upgraded to B-C4 capability while the outer B-C2 hardpoints were deemed unnecessary and changed to M-CX class, allowing the Sorcerer access to two SLAM-7 infrared guided space launched missiles as part of its loadout. As a result of the fuselage redesign, extra countermeasure pods were added to the rear of the vehicle, increasing maximum countermeasure capacity to 600.
The engines and reaction control system thrusters did not receive any changes, however. Despite receiving feedback requesting additional manoeuvrability, SCI stated that due to the minimal change in overall structural mass, there was no incentive to make changes to the propulsion systems without further complexifying the fuselage arrangement.
