The Generation 4 Fragmentation Grenade was an experimental fourth generation grenade conceptualised by Lance Innovations in response to the beginning of the Cosmian Wars. It was to include a dramatically increased effective range of 30 metres and a slightly longer fuse time of seven seconds, as well as a significantly greater average lethality. Despite never making it to full production, the prototype paved the way for the successful G4b.F Grenade. The G4.F model is occasionally available in the markets but is rare, expensive, and too unreliable for reasonable use, meaning it does not see as much action as the previous G3e.F design.
