The Plasma Accelerator Complex ONE Midnight Comet was the first artillery cannon to make use of plasma-based composite shells, a newly released highly reactive and damaging projectile. The PBC-Ex Shell, designed as a joint project between Primus Manufacturing and Harry's Heatworks, was the primary experimental projectile fired by the Midnight Comet.

The unit itself came from a long line of military weapons designed by the anonymous Granule Reduction, and was picked up for production by Harry's Heatworks, the company well known for its variety of industrial applications of plasma. Artillery units making use of the PAC ONE saw moderate success in its operation, although some major flaws, such as an unreliable plasma moderation system made it undesirable for most. The PAC ONE is no longer manufactured, with the much safer PAC TWO Azure Meteor replacing it.
