The Pinpoint Guidance Diver is a laser-guided bomb designed by Payne Explotech for use by starships. Its custom integrated targeting system allows it to hit targets within a few metres of the specified target location from dropping distances of more than eight kilometres. The Diver uses a combination of four reaction control system thrusters to affect its flight path as well as an internal reaction wheel to make minor angling adjustments. Although more modern versions have been released, the bomb remains in use in the present day and continues to be manufactured by Primus Manufacturing.
The PG1 Diver I was the first Diver to be released in 2056. A powerful bomb of explosive class 5, it was used extensively by various militaries. However, production of the Diver I was ceased after the creation of the PG2.
The PG2 Diver II is an explosive class 5 bomb currently in service with the Kolban Alliance and several organisations. It introduced an improved set of reaction control thrusters, as well as infrared and ultraviolet shielding to prevent system damage during flight.
The PG2-S Diver S was a miniaturised version of the PG2 Diver II. Featuring the same systems but with a reduced size and an explosive class of 3 instead of the usual 5, the Diver S was introduced to the market in response to the Human military's request for increased customisability of their starship payloads.
The PG3 Diver III is the newest rendition of the Diver series, having its explosive class increased to 6. Although most aspects of the bomb were upgraded with the PG3, a high price tag has prevented it from gaining enough traction beyond the Kolban Alliance.
