Galaxy
The galaxy is the primary space in which the Sci-Fi World takes place. It is formally named the "Milky Way", after its white, milk-like appearance. Although uncrewed starship and satellite missions have been sent to neighbouring galaxies, such as the Andromeda galaxy, efforts are yet to be made to transport possible settlers. As such, the Milky Way remains the boundary of known exploration. Of the estimated 100 billion star systems in the Milky Way, approximately 12,000 have been visited and explored to some extent, and 225 of those systems are known to be permanently inhabited or around at least one celestial body, whether natural or artificial. Each celestial body in the galaxy that has been explored in this way is given a Celestial Classification, and each one that has been inhabited or is otherwise of significant interest is given an official name. This process is handled by the Galactic Astronomical Union, under the Kolban Alliance. A full list of celestial classifications can be found here.
